We help young people gain the skills they need to shine bright
Through everyday adventure, we help young people tackle new challenges, build confidence, and make friends for life.
Welcome to 5th Rotherham
We're one of the fastest-growing Scout groups in the Rotherham District. Every week, young people aged 4 to 14 join our adventure right here in Maltby.
Our group is run by a team of trained volunteers. We meet every week, go camping, take part in day activities and play an active part in the Maltby community.
Why join Scouts?
Scouts is where young people learn by doing. Here is what your child gets from joining the Mavericks.
-
Friends for life
Your child will make new friends in a safe, welcoming place where everyone belongs.
-
Skills for life
From first aid and cooking to map reading and expedition skills that can lead to the Duke of Edinburgh's Award.
-
Adventure every week
Camping, hiking, swimming, abseiling, cycling, canoeing and plenty more.
-
Confidence to try new things
Young people take on challenges at their own pace and find out what they can do.
-
Belonging to something bigger
We're part of a worldwide movement that celebrates difference and builds stronger communities.
-
Led by trained volunteers
Our leaders are trained, supported and here because they care.
You can sign up now to reserve a place, even if your child isn't old enough to join yet.
